Harvest Report 2011: Planting New Vines of Sangiovese and Replanting Olive Trees

Tuscan olive tree

In the "Località Ficaioli", we are preparing the terrain to plant a Sangiovese vine.

The good olive trees that cannot be replanted are cut and the stump is removed. For those that are healthy, the entire trunk is pruned and then is removed together with the roots and replanted in another part of the estate. The wood will be sold as firewood for heating.
