Over the last few weeks, we have faced above average temperatures for Montalcino winters. Since yesterday, temperatures started to drop down, and last night abundant snow fell over the Mount Amiata. This morning, it was 2°C (36° F) with a beautiful clear blue sky due to the cold northern wind blowing over Montalcino.
Unfortunately, there still hasn’t been any rain. Rain is much needed during the winter months, as in this period water can be accumulated in the soil to be used in the dry months of summer. However, forecasts say we should expect some rain on Sunday. We’ll cross our fingers!
