As mentioned in our previous posts, we are facing an abnormal spring. We went from the lowest temperature on Friday of 12 °C (53.6 F) to this morning’s lowest temperature of 6 °C (42.8 F).
This weather trend is not ideal for the vegetation of the vines and of the olive trees, but there's nothing we can do about the climate. Older members of our community used to say that it's a worrying situation when there is snow on Mount Amiata, since that means that the snow awaits more snow, with the imaginable consequences. This is a photo taken this morning at 9:37 from the webcam situated on the top of Mount Amiata.
As for a farming operations update, we have just finished tying up the vines. We are now pruning the olive trees and accomplishing various tasks with our machinery.
