Yesterday here on our estate it has rained and it has removed the 95% of remaining residual snow. The temperatures have been maintained around 7° C. In truth, there was little rainfall, about 10 millimeters, but thus is the weather and we must take it with philosophy. Today Tuesday we have awaken with a temperature around 2° C. with strong wind and cloudy sky.
On Mount Amiata (above), which is facing us, there has been another light snowfall, but nothing important. Starting tomorrow and for all the week, the forecasts have pre-announced fair weather. This is important because from Friday to Monday, "Benvenuto Brunello" will take place, a conference where the producers of Montalcino present our newly released new wines to the foreign press, to restaurateurs, wine shops, and Italian wine lovers.
This year will be presented the Rosso di Montalcino 2010, the Brunello di Montalcino 2007, and the Brunello di Montalcino 2006 Riserva, three authentic purebreds, being — we believe — for the first time three vintages with the maximum evaluation, 5 Stars.
The tastings already held in San Francisco and in New York have given very positive results and our wines were very much appreciated. We are very happy about this.
