After some rain over the weekend, where in our area we had 30 mm (1.2 in.), we waited until Monday so that the vineyards soil and grapes were dry. Yesterday September 20 at 1:00PM we started to harvest the Sangiovese in the vineyards close to our winery.
Our workers, trained with the experience of many years working at Il Poggione, know how to select the grapes during the harvest: they select the Sangiovese grape bunches that are healthy and ripe and drop those clusters that are unsuitable, if any. All this because the quality of the wine is made in the vineyard, not in the cellar.
