Overview: vintage with frequent but intermittent rainfall resulting in a ripe and healthy harvest.
The months of January through April brought higher temperatures than the average making for a mild winter. Summer temperatures were warm but not excessively so and were mitigated by rainfall.
Picking at Il Poggione began on September 10th and ended on October 3rd. The grapes were picked at peak ripeness.
The grapes were handpicked with sorting of the bunches in the vineyard (as with every vintage, we pruned during the months of July and August).
